Teresa Perez

Welcome, my name is Terry!

It takes courage to decide to seek out therapy and I am glad you did. Trauma can be difficult to work through on your own. Traumatic events such as sex trafficking, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, physical abuse, abusive relationships, or any form of traumatic event, can take its toll on you, leaving you feeling out of control, ashamed, afraid and helpless. I will walk with you through your healing journey and help you get to a place where you feel whole again and in control of your life once more.

Educational Background

I graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University with a BA in Psychology and BA in Religious Studies, and I received my MA in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M – San Antonio. I am currently attending Texas A&M University – Commerce and am working on a PhD in Counseling Supervision and Education. I have training in Child Centered Play therapy and enjoy working with young children and adolescents. I also have training in Sandtray Therapy which I find to be helpful when words fail to express what you are feeling or thinking. I operate from a Person Centered perspective and believe you have value and worth as a person. I believe we all have the strength and courage to overcome trauma within ourselves. Sometimes, we just need someone to walk by our side along the healing journey. I would like to be that person for you.

I am a mother of four and a grandmother of four. When not working or not at school, I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren. I enjoy long drives at night and the moonlight. I enjoy reading and playing strategy games such as Sequence and Dominion.
